an internship is something that springs from medieval times where someone skilled will teach someone young.
the text also says that the difference between internships and apprentices is the more exploratory aspect of the internship also the internship can be ended when you acomplished certain goal or period of time.
in the U.S internships can be paid or un paid but the U.S laws mandates that unpaid internship must not benefict the company on a economical level or interns cant be used to replace paid workforce.
in the article the author sabatino says interns take internships to get experience and to be trained on a certain field.
and whe you are asked why you want to take an internship you should answerd that you want the experience in your field of work and make research about topics related to it.
